One critical element of GREAT nachos are the chips you serve them on.
Crappy chips=Crappy nachos

I recently had this wave of cheapness wash over me that i had never had experienced before. Is it that i'm getting older? Is it that Christmas is coming and i have to participate in the whole consumer driven holiday or risk being shunned by my family? I'm not entirely sure. My whole point here was i decided to buy some chips that i normally don't buy and man, they SUCKED. Proper nacho chips should be able to withstand the weight and moisture of nacho cheese, any toppings such as meat, sour cream or salsa and not dissolve or fall apart before getting to your mouth.

My top picks for chips are:
Mission Nacho Rounds......The undisputed king of nacho chips!!!

While not round but in strips, Costco's are also pretty good

Lastly, if you have to pick something up from a place that doesn't have Mission chips(why, oh why??) Tostitos are not bad but as i will mention in my avoid at all costs section, be prepared for some disappointment.

These SANTITAS chips are the devil himself!!

They taste fricken delicious and are some of the freshest chips i have ever eaten from a bag but they will arrive at your house mostly broken and will instantly dissolve the minute they touch nacho cheese(especially molten-been in the microwave on high for 5 minutes hot). FRITO LAY, you must fix this. Is it because you don't want competition with your own Tostitos??? Get rid of those crappy Tostitos and start making these more sturdy!

Am i missing something by not being able to get in food-service warehouses???
Cash & Carry, Restaurant Depot, etc. I go past these places and have even attempted to get in a Cash & Carry only to be shown the door. Why do i have to have a business license to shop there?? I have this feeling in my quest to find Nacho Cheese that they might have some stuff i would want to try. One of these days, I'll get someone to sneak me in as their guest or whatever. Any place that has jugs of Tabasco is a place i need to research!

First Review!!!!!! Que Bueno Nacho Cheese

Que Bueno is what i would describe as my back-up nacho cheese. It's the one product that if you get tired of experimenting or just want a sure thing, it would be this product. My biggest beef with Que Bueno is that it comes in a HUGE #10 can. I can put down some cheese but at 6.5 pounds........You really have to be committed.

Pros:
Quantity
Thick
Made of real cheese
Spicy
Available at your local Costco
Stays good in the refrigerator for over 2 weeks.

Cons:
Quantity-------6.625 Pounds!!!!!!!!! YIKES!!
Even though it's spicy, after a few bites it can start to get bland tasting
Cools and sets quickly.....I attribute this to it's nearly 100% cheese content; if it had more chemicals or preservatives, it probably would stay liquid longer.

There are without a doubt better cheeses for nachos on the market but this bad boy is the king of the retail nacho world. Just look at what someone at urban dictionary left:

The best nacho cheese sauce ever to exist. You can only purchase it in a one gallon can, which will never expire.

Well.......Here's my first post here and i hope that i can keep this blog going unlike my last one! What I'm going to try and do is give my opinions on some of the nacho cheese products that you can buy at the store. You walk past them and wonder if they would make great nachos. No longer will you have to worry because you can come here and consult the Nacho Cheese Gourmand!
